The dandy Kawasaki Ninja has always been an eye candy for all the performance bike lovers across the globe. The Ninja 250 has proven to be the world's best quarter liter performance bike for many years and frankly it deserves to be so without any shadow of doubt.
For all crazy Ninja fanatics, Kawasaki has just brought in the all new 2013 Ninja 300 which is powered by a 296cc fuel-injected parallel twin engine with same 62.0mm bore from the current Ninja 250R, while a 7.8mm-longer stroke combined with shorter and lighter connecting rods has kept engine height identical. Dual-throttle-valve fuel injection feeds wider intake ports and larger-diameter intake valves and compression has been reduced to 10.6:1.
In terms of power the 300 will gain 7 bhp over its 250cc sibling with an output of 39 bhp. Sigh, my desert has been arranged.
The new 300 also features "advanced racing-derived technology" in the form of a slipper clutch and a back-torque limiter. A slipper clutch on a 300? Man we are talking business here. And yes not to forget the ABS by Nissin is said to be 40-percent smaller and much lighter than its earlier design that will further enhance the braking prowess of the beast.
The bike also features a new diamond-style steel tube frame which is more rigid, while a recalibrated conventional fork and shock offer improved ride comfort. A 140 mm tyre has been provided at the rear.
The features of the new Ninja can be summarized as under :
- Fuel-injected parallel twin engine with dual throttle valves
- Increased displacement (296 cc) for power and torque exceeding the class
- Superior acceleration and top speed
- High level of chassis stability from new frame
