Impulsive new 150cc from Hero MotoCorp
It has not been very long since we brought you the news about the launch of the new Hero MotoCorp Impulse. This specific model has always been an eye catcher for us, as it is not only different in term of looks but also in the class of people it promises to serve. It is for the first time that Hero MotoCorp or any other Indian biking maker has ventured so boldly into unknown territories with a “never before seen” kind of a bike .With typical motocross bike looks, this bike is an attention grabber for sure, as it is unlike anything seen on Indian road till now.
LOOKS :-
Not only is it different looking but it also has a host of features that are very different from the motorcycles that we are used to see. The under seat exhaust (with a protective cover to keep the rider safe) is one of a kind and adds to the overall beauty of the already a well-made machine. The bike also has floating tank panels and a very beautifully designed rear.Big number plate on the front is an eye sore though. We were also not happy with the welding marks that were seen on the chassis.
the overall design is uncluttered and stylish.
The rear is pretty and looks good with the clear lens tail lamp and the indicators.
The front is typical motocross and extended front forks do allow some off roading.
the engine build is neat but we expected better weld quality.
Comfort:-
The extended front telescopic suspension and the box section swing arms glide over potholes.
The seats are wide and cushy along with a stylishly crafted grab rail and promise a really comfortable ride.
The grab rails are stylish.
The seats are comfortable and the bike has an oomph factor owing to its under seat exhaust.
The bike is tall but still fun to ride and surely a machine for some off-roading for those wild riding enthusiasts. On an all the bike offers good comfort and riding fun.
Specs :-
The fuel tank looks small but can carry up 11.1 litres of fuel which we think is sufficient for a 150cc motor. The bike weighs 134 kgs and produces 13.2 PS of power and 13.4 nm of torque. The figures surely indicate that the bike has been tuned well for the riding style it is being aimed at. The front sports a disk brake and the braking at the rear is taken care by a 110mm drum brakes that does its job well.
Hero MotoCorp has maintained the practicality of the bike by providing a kick start (which we believe is a very essential part especially in India) and a provision for the crash guard has also been provided.
The speedo meter is digital along with an analog tachometer. The console looks beautiful and also has a very important feature of a clock with it.
What We Think : -
It is an absolutely new style of motorcycle for the masses in India. Although it is something that we are not very used to seeing, we think that it is a beautiful machine which is very neatly made by Hero MotoCorp. We surely would want to see many of these on the road in the near future.
Stay tuned for more on Impulse and lots of more news from the world of biking.
