The eagerly awaited KTM Duke 200 has finally been launched by Bajaj Auto India. The launch of ‘Duke’ is one of the many steps in our association with KTM over the last five years. Between Bajaj Pulsar and KTM ‘Duke’, we intend to further strengthen our position in sports motorcycle segment in India,” Bajaj Auto Managing Director, Mr Rajiv Bajaj, told reporters here.
The company will be launching at least one new KTM bike every year in India, he added.
Bajaj Auto has decided to sell ‘Duke’ through all its 32 pro-biking showrooms which have now been transformed into exclusive KTM outlets. Besides, there will be 40 service centers dedicated only for KTM bikes.
The KTM Duke 200 can be booked at 30 ProBiking showrooms across India, which will henceforth be called as KTM Stores.
- The booking amount for the KTM Duke 200 is INR 30,000.
- The bookings will begin on the 1st of February, 2012 on a first come first serve basis.
- Although the official bookings will begin on 1st February, we’re hearing that many KTM stores are taking bookings unofficially. So, the folks who will book unofficially might get priority when official bookings open on the February 1st, 2012.
- The KTM Duke 200 is priced at INR 1,17,500, ex-showroom Delhi. On road prices vary from INR 1.3 t0 1.4 Lakhs, depending from city to city.
- The first batch of 100 Duke motorcycles will be delivered quickly, probably within a couple of weeks after booking.
- KTM is playing it safe by quoting a 90 day waiting period for the rest of the bookings, although this could go down as production increases in phases.
- Test rides of the KTM Duke 200 will be offered through the KTM stores and the middle of February is one when you will be able to get one.
- The KTM Duke 200 display models have been dispatched to KTM Stores across India and will be available for public viewing by this weekend.
